Nachalat Yehuda has been in
numerous temporary locations since its founding in 1996. Today,
we are poised to
realize a dream and complete the construction of the building
which will house Nachalat Yehuda.
In November of 1999, the City
of Maaleh Adumim awarded us lot # 108 to erect a synagogue. This
lot comprises 300 square meters. In addition, Maaleh Adumim has
pledged $50,000 towards completion of the structure (this money
is earmarked and on deposit).
Additional resources include:
$5,000 in our building fund, and $25,000 matching pledge from a
donor in Monsey, New York.
We are considering two plans,
depending on the preference of our donors:
-
Two story structure:
First floor:
sanctuary, full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, and a security
room.
Second floor:
multipurpose room with moveable walls for classrooms,
community lecture hall, kiddush hall, etc., bathroom.
Total projected cost:
$240,000.
-
Same as first floor
described above, plus moveable walls.
Total projected cost:
$130,000
The cost of the building
includes all fixtures as well as air conditioning and heating,
but does not include furniture.
